Hello. I am excited to be working with the Write Alaska! course this summer. I have been with the Anchorage School District for the last ten years. I worked as a high school English teacher at Eagle River High School and Chugiak High School, and I am currently an Induction & Mentor Program Specialist in Training & Professional Development.
I love to write, read, hike, fish, and travel. The best book that I have read recently is called The Time Traveler's Wife. My favorite poets are Pablo Neruda and Billy Collins (if you are in the Write Alaska! class, you will be lucky enough to get to know them too!).
I also enjoy geeking out with technology and listening to music. The photo that I included is from a few weeks ago when my nieces came up to visit from Idaho. I like this picture because it includes some of my favorite things in the world: my family, my dog Tangle, and the mountains of Alaska on a sunny day.
This will be a great class!

i hate writing! i do not like it at all! these hikes are fun but challenging! Sonnet is such a great guide. I am so glad I am in this class. Devin just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
