Friday of July 24, 2009 was a pretty awesome day! The Write Alaska group started off in the morning with writer’s workshop! We wrote about any cool poem or writing about the wonderful hiking experiences.
Then from there started our afternoon taking the gang to Potter Marsh. The weather of Anchorage was a bit cloudy, but started to clear up. Our first assignment in our journals was picking one thing that we had seen, taking that and describing the creature or thing, and drawing the object or thing. My creature was a duck, those lazy animals that just do anything. With fish, salmon in the creek, seeing ducks/birds, trees, cars, and other people was enjoyable and pretty chill day.
When we arrived at the park we were eager to get off the bus and start our activities on the park strip. There was a game of Ultimate Frisbee, basketball and volleyball, which are fun and tiring after just a few minutes of running. We all had fun there either playing or just watching the others play. I chose to play Ultimate Frisbee and we had a lot of fun, but not as much fun as the day we went to Kincaid Park. All in all, this had been the best week of school and I’m just waiting to see what happens next week. I know that this is the last week and hopefully the best one.
