Cameron Selby

Hi, I’m Cameron. I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and went to college at UAA and graduated from University of Delaware in 2009. I earned a degree in Political Science and I’ve recently moved to Portland, Maine. I love to return home to Alaska because hiking, camping and climbing are my favorite activities. My favorite hikes around Anchorage are any of the hikes starting at Glen Alps, along the Seward Highway like Fall’s Creek and Bird Ridge. I’ve done a few mountain adventures like Triangle Peak above Eagle Lake. I’ve climbed Mount Rainier near Seattle, Mount Whitney in California, and Mount Washington in New Hampshire. I like the winters in New England as I love going ice climbing in the Catskill Mountains and climbing classic trad-routes in New England.

Since I’m writing on our last hiking day, I want to say that Write Alaska! has been a great experience and I’ve been so happy to share the Alaskan hikes that I love with this wonderful group. Keep on hikin’

  1. Hey, Cam, I heard something about you hiking from Mexico to Canada. What's that about? Muir Trail in the Sierra Nevadas? Where?
